Of Tubular Braids and Flat Braids:
• Tubular Rugs are the most common type of braided rug sold by mass merchandisers and chain home stores. These are NOT true braids, but instead a tube filled with 'fluff' such as fiber or paper type cores.
• Tubular braids have a ratio of 60% filler and only 40% surface yarn to create the braided rug surface that is then both seen in your home, and handling the traffic load in your home. Because of this these rugs do not last long at all, do not hold up to cleanings, are a waste of your money and time.
• Flat Braids are sold in specialty flooring stores, furniture stores, upscale department stores, catalog houses and nice gift shops. These are a true braid formed around two legs of paper or in a higher quality rug around two legs of yarn.
• Flat Braided Rugs have a ratio of 70% SURFACE YARN and 30% core material so that the part of the rug that needs to be strong and hold up has the strength and durability to exceed all of your expectations.

Rhody Rug uses a knit tube as the two inner legs to form a cushion tube within a braid, which then serves as a sturdy sewing base to increase the longevity of your rug and create a soft plush feel under foot.
